President Obama had a plan to get all Americans good healthcare insurance. Healthcare is needed in America, but there are some disadavantages we tend to not think about. First of all, it is really expensive. It would cost American taxpayers approximately $933 billion to make sure that all of our country's citizens have coverage.
Our economy is already in the toilet! How are we supposed to pay for this when we're already in so much debt? Another thing is that some people say that it goes against our Constitution. There are about 14 states that are planning on a repeal because government-funding health insurance is not anywhere in our Constitution!
The White House cares about universal healthcare because they feel every American should have a right to affordable coverage. There are 2 main reasons: many other developed countries such as England, Germany, Taiwan, Switzerland, and Japan have unversal healthcare for ALL it's citizens; there are people in America with chronic diseases and preexisting conditions that are denied coverage every single day!
To me, healthcare is a very important topic. We need to come together and find a solution.
